UGA freshman Kurt Mueller was recently awarded the 2012-2013 Woodruff Scholarship. Mueller is an incoming, first-year student at the University of Georgia.

Mueller is from Watkinsville, Ga. and graduated from Athens Academy.

The Woodruff Scholarship, named in honor of George W. Woodruff, recognizes the business executive and philanthropist's commitment to UGA. Woodruff served on the board of directors at Coca-Cola for 49 years and was a life-long supporter of education.

The award includes $2,000 per academic year to an incoming honor student with stellar high school academic credentials.
