Athens Regional Medical Center recently received full accreditation from the American College of Radiology in Computer Tomography, Positron Emission Tomography, Nuclear Medicine, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, MRI Breast, Ultrasound and Mammography.

With this accreditation, Athens Regional becomes the only fully accredited imaging facility in Northeast Georgia.

In a press release from the medical center, director of Radiology Bill Ashley stated, ”Earning full accreditation in imaging is a difficult thing to do and shows the commitment of Athens Regional Medical Center’s Imaging Services to provide the very best equipment, staff and employees to care for the patients that choose us as their provider of quality imaging care."

The ACR gold seal of accreditation signifies the highest level of image quality and patient safety.
