UGA Terry College of Business to Commemorate 100th Year
The University of Georgia Terry College of Business will celebrate its 100th year in business education this summer. This college is the oldest business school in the South.
Celebrations began at the Alumni Awards and Gala on April 28 and will continue at Graduation Convocation scheduled for May 12. Robert T. Sumichrast, dean of the Terry College stated, "“Although the actual founding date is June 12, we wanted to celebrate a bit longer and begin our centennial festivities with alumni and friends at the gala. We also are excited to have Dr. Mary Virginia Terry as our convocation speaker. She is a wonderful role model and long-standing supporter of our students.”
The college has plans to publish a commemorative issue of Terry Magazine in July and recently published a website with an interactive timeline featuring the college's milestones. Alumni of the school are encouraged to update their records. Visit the website for more information.
