Athens Man Dies After Apparently Punching Window
Elmario Rayshawn Griffith, 37, appears to have severed an artery during a domestic dispute.
An Athens, Ga., man apparently punched through a window during a fight with his ex-girlfriend and severed an artery, then died at St. Mary's Hospital.
Elmario Rayshawn Griffith, 37, wouldn't tell police what happened when they arrived at the Jack R. Wells Homes on Tuesday morning, the Athens Banner-Herald reports. He had been charged with stabbing the ex-girlfriend last year and was banned from being in contact with her as a condition of his bond.
The woman told police the window had fallen on Griffith as he tried to put in an air conditioning unit, but police believe he punched the window, the paper reports. Foul play isn't suspected.
