arrested two men on drug charges April 26.

In one arrest, members of the Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at 150 Anderson St. and found crack cocaine, a cell phone, cash, packaging material, and Alprazolam. Robert Orante Booker, 34, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine.

In another case, about 6 p.m., an officer on patrol saw a subject he believed had a suspended license driving a vehicle in the Dublin Street area. A traffic stop was made near E Broad St and a computer check confirmed his license was suspended. When the driver got out of the car, the officer smelled marijuana and took the man into custody. Howard Cornelious Stevens, 37, of Washington Drive, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of a schedule I/II drug, and driving with a suspended license.

Police also reported a burglary that occurred between April 21 and April 26, in which copper wire valued at $1,800 was stolen from a storage building on the former Armstrong and Dobbs property on Oconee Street.

A man told police at Warren and Fairview Streets that two to four young men wearing T-shirts and jeans beat and robbed him of $15, but he then became uncooperative and refused treatment by emergency medical workers. Witnesses told police it might have been a drug deal gone bad.
