Citizens Police Academy Session Will Gear Up in February in Athens, Ga.

The course is recommended for anyone who wants to know more about law enforcement in our community.

 

 

Ever wanted to learn what the police do? And what law enforcement is all about?

Now's your chance.

The 29th session of the Citizens Police Academy will begin Thursday, February 7, 2013, at 6:15 pm at the East Precinct on Lexington Road. Classes will be held every Thursday through April 25, 2013.

This is a 12-week course has weekly classes, with each class lasting three hours. Participants will learn about patrol functions, criminal investigation, communications and 911, crime prevention, SRT, and many other functions of the police department.

Applicants must live or work in Athens-Clarke County, be at least 18 years of age, and pass a criminal background check. The deadline for registration is Friday, January 17.
