Check points produce arrests.

 The Big Oak Circle residence of Paul Drew was burglarized between 4 p.m. on May 27 and 2:13 a.m. May 28. A Sony Playstation was taken. 

The Vineyard Drive residence of Frank Ross was burglarized between 4:45 p.m. and 4:50 p.m. on May 27. Ross received a call from his alarm company, and upon arriving at this residence, he saw that the back door had been kicked in. Nothing was taken.

Deonta Butler advised that his vehicle, parked in the 200 block of Chalfont Drive, was entered and a handgun taken from the trunk.

A vehicle checkpoint was conducted on Commerce Road beginning at 1:25 a.m. and ending at 2:40 a.m. The purpose was to check for Ddriver licenses, equipment violations and impaired drivers. The following violations were encountered:

2 Illegal U-Turn

1 Failure to use turn signals

 A second checkpoint was conducted on Danielsville Road at Smokey Road. beginning at 11:15 p.m. on May 27 and ending at 12:15 a.m. on May 28. The purpose was to check for driver’s licenses, equipment violations and impaired drivers. The following violations were encountered:

1 No License

3 Unregistered Vehicles

1 Child Restraint

1 Open container

1 No License on person 

Julissa Rodriguez reported she was the victim of a purse snatching on May 26 at 10 p.m. at the Dairy Queen on Broad Street. Rodriguez stated she went to the business and discovered it closed. While returning to her vehicle, another vehicle pulled in and the suspect exited his vehicle and forcibly took her purse.
