Crime Blotter--Two Arrested in BB Shooting

After an investigation, Charles Anthony Horton, 18, Twin Creek Road, Winterville, and Josh Carney, 17, Township Lane, a member of the 2012 class at, were arrested for the aggravated assault of an 11-year old child on March 4.  as she walked down Cedar Shoals Dr.  Both were charged with one count Aggravated Assault.  The investigation continues and other charges are pending.

An officer responded to the area of Martin Luther King, Jr., Parkway and College Avenue to a complaint of a female walking around with blood on her.  The officer made contact with a woman from Honeysuckle Lane who had a head wound.  She advised while under the North Avenue bridge, she had a disagreement with a female who lives there.  She does not remember what happened but she thinks she was struck on the head with a bottle.  EMS responded and transported the woman to Athens Regional Medical Center.  The investigation continues.  This occurred around 2pm on March 8.

Between 515pm on March 7 and 8:30am on March 8 an attempt was made to enter the office of Joiner & Associates Realtors, Inc., on Prince Avenue. An attempt was made to enter Business Services, Inc., on Prince Avenue between 6:30pm on March 3 and 10am on March 8.  Between 9:45pm on March 7 and 9:30am on  March 8 an attempt was also made to enter Sap Revolution on Prince Avenue.

A Reed Street residence was burglarized between 6pm on March 6 and 7pm on March 8.  A video game system valued at $200 was stolen.

A vehicle owned by a resident of Cleveland Road was entered between 2300 March 7 and 1345 March 8 while parked at his residence.  A laptop, jacket, GPS, and radar detector were stolen.  The total value was $1,600.
