Distinguished Scholar and Teacher Dies

Milner S. Ball died Wednesday.

Milner Shriver Ball, retired Harmon W. Caldwell Professor of Constitutional Law at the University of Georgia School of Law, died Wednesday, April 6. He had Parkinson's disease. Milner Ball was an ordained Presbyterian minister, a distinguished scholar, a fabulous writer, an original thinker, a compassionate teacher, a tireless campaigner for social justice and a fully realized human being.

Athens, the university, and the country, have lost someone whose legacy extends far beyond the borders of Clarke County. He is survived by his wife, artist June Ball, three children and their families.
