Little Kings Shuffle Club got a little crafty Saturday evening as Gretchen Elsner hosted a "Swap-o-rama-rama" party during which people brought in unwanted clothes to recycle into new items.

In a form of do-it-yourself recycling, participants brought in their unwanted clothing and used sewing machines to modify and create new custom pieces to wear.

Elsner worked on a "happy skirt," that involved stitching together several bright colored fabrics of different patterns, while Uma Nagendra combined two old shirts into one for a unique "platypus" tee.

This "creative commons" event was first started by Wendy Tremayne in 2005 and has taken place in countries like Istanbul, Jerusalem, Panama City, Littelton New Zealand and nearly 100 others, according to a bio on the website
