Man Arrested for Pretending A Stun Gun Was His Penis

Meredith Grayson Watson was arrested and jailed for public intoxication and disorderly conduct, then released on bond.

After making an unpleasant scene with a stun gun on Monday afternoon outside a downtown bar, 44-year-old Meredith Grayson Watson of Normaltown faces criminal charges.

According to a story in the Athens Banner Herald, Watson, of Hiawassee Avenue, began to argue with his wife at the Roadhouse on North Lumpkin. He then left and held a Taser as if it were his penis.

He discharged the Taser at passersby, the story says, but the police report doesn't mention anyone being shocked by the device.

A bartender called police around 2:30 p.m. to report Watson's behavior. The bartender told officers that Watson’s wife was a good customer at the Roadhouse, but Monday was the first time she had seen Watson, police said.

The Banner Herald story says the couple were arguing about him being intoxicated as they entered the bar. Watson's wife left the bar and he went after her, but he returned and kept drinking, setting a Taser on the bar, police said. Watson then went outside and began to use the device, the story says.

“(The bartender) stated [Watson] went outside and put the Taser down to his pants and was acting like it was his penis,” according to the arrest report. “When people would walk by, he would shock it at them and would come as close as arm’s reach from them and set the Taser off,” according to the report. “He scared a few girls so much they crossed the street to get away.”
