From Athens, UGA Cheerleader Anna Watson, the weightlifting wonder, traveled to New York City to appear on ABC's "Good Morning America."
The Fayetteville native was a weightlifter before she joined the cheerleading squad this year. She has been doing gymnastics and cheering since she was a child. She can bench press 155 pounds--which is huge for a woman.
She talked with host Robin Roberts about why she turned down a $75,000 fitness modeling contract because it hinged on taking a legal steroid. Watson has said she didn't want to put chemicals in her body and that she was worried about the long-term effects.
In her interview with Roberts, Watson talked about her Christian faith, about becoming addicted to weightlifting and about being where the Lord wants her to be. You can see the cast on her lower left leg, a result of her snapping her Achilles tendon during cheerleading practice more than a week ago.

She is comfortable in her beliefs and able to articulate well. I think UGA should be proud of her!
