FamilyServe with HandsOn NEGA

Project Safe Thrift Store, 995 Hawthorne Ave, Athens, GA | Get Directions »

HandsOn NEGA is re-launching FamilyServe, a program designed just for families with young children. We aim to not only introduce children to community service but also to provide affordable (Free!) opportunities for families to bond together in a meaningful environment.

On March 31st, families are invited to volunteer at the ProjectSafe Thrift Store, assisting with cleaning, reorganizing, and switching out merchandise so that the thrift store can be as successful as possible in their sales, which in turn funds many of the important programs and services that ProjectSafe offers.

More About Project Safe Thrift Store

Project Safe Thrift Store

Project Safe Thrift Store

995 Hawthorne Ave, Athens, GA
706-425-8863

This thrift store is a money-raising arm of Project Safe, a non-profit organization working to end violence against women and finding ways to help women in abusive situations rebuild their lives. The store sells the usual second hand items such as shoes, clothing, books, household knick-knacks and more. However, customers can also find quite a collection of old vinyl records. A second Project Safe Thrift Store is located at 1055 Gains School Road. The program actively recruits volunteers to work at the thrift stores as well as to man crisis hotlines, provide abuse prevention education to local schools and support women living in their secret shelters that are attempting to put piece back together their lives.
