Beauty Everyday: You've Read the Blog, Now See the Book

There's a book-signing for Beauty Everyday and Southern Makers on Thursday, November 21.

Beauty Everyday is a beautiful book. Six pounds, 420 pages, suitable for a bedside or coffee table, or wherever you have a chance to sit, look and appreciate. The paper is a heavy, matte, the cover is a dyed linen with a gold-foiled line drawing. There are 365 photos, one for each day of the year in the South.

It's the work of local artists Kristen Bach, Rinne Allen and Rebecca Wood, who self-published the book and who took the photos in Athens and Northeast Georgia. Thursday night, the trio are celebrating the book's publication at a signing, from 6 to 8pm, at Treehouse Kid and Craft on Broad Street.

Also attending the signing will be Brooklyn resident and Atlanta native Jen Causey. She has finished her new book, Southern Makers. This book documents crafts people across the South and features a handful of Athens artisans including: Rinne Allen, Brown Parcel Press, Full Moon Cooperative: Susan Hable, of Hable Construction; and Rebecca Wood of R.Wood Studio.

Kristen Bach said someone told her that Beauty Everyday "is like a Southern daydream." She likes that.
