I'm having an opening of new work I've created during this past year. They are hand painted photographs with mixed media and found objects attached. I'm having my first solo show at Sips Espresso Cafe on the corner of Satula and Prince Aves in Normaltown. The opening is tonight from 6 to 8 pm. I hope you can stop by and have first pick of these pieces I've taken that represent favorite Athens locations.  The show runs through February. All the work is for sale and VERY reasonably priced.

Here's a snippet of my artist info I put up at the show:

Ms. Paskiewicz still maintains a studio for her jewelry making production
but has recently branched out into mixed media wall work. The idea for
this work came to her up in Wisconsin during a brief time away from
Athens in 2010/11.  Taking a break from 20 plus years of jewelry making
she started photographing the beautiful landscapes of Wisconsin.

This work is created from taking pictures with an iPhone camera, placed
into photoshop where all the color is removed. After tinkering with the
image they are printed onto paper and adhered to primed pine boards.

They are hand painted with watercolors, goache and acrylics.  The
mixed media that is adhered to the boards is primarily objects found
near the locations of the photos.  It creates a three dimensional image
which plays with the depth of the photograph and creates a frame
around the image.
