FOR THE CLASSIC CENTER, LEVY RESTAURANTS IS THE NEW RECIPE FOR SUCCESS

Award-winning restaurateurs tapped to take the guest experience to the next level

ATHENS, Ga. – Underscoring its focus on creating a truly world-class guest experience, The Classic Center is pleased to announce Levy Restaurants as its new dining and hospitality partner. The relationship is a result of an extensive request for proposal process by The Classic Center.

“Levy Restaurants is a leader in the dining and hospitality industry and has great expertise in convention centers and special events,” said Paul Cramer, executive director of The Classic Center. “I believe that Levy will not only elevate our guest experience but also provide significant advantages to our employees. They are fully embracing our vision and our new partnership will open doors for us and local businesses alike.”

Over the last decade, Levy has redefined the state of convention center dining and hospitality, energizing the meeting experience with its award-wining, restaurateur approach. By delivering freshly prepared menus, sourcing locally produced ingredients and activating robust learning and development programs, Levy has continued to innovate the event day at top venues around the country, including David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, Georgia World Congress Center, the Boston Exhibition and Convention Center and the Los Angeles Convention Center also awarded in 2014, among others.

Levy will leverage their deep bench of culinary and hospitality resources, including award-winning training and development programs, analytics and more to elevate the guest experience at The Classic Center.

“Welcoming guests with the best food and heartfelt hospitality is at the core of who we are and we couldn’t be more proud to partner with The Classic Center to create a world-class reputation for Athens,” said Andy Lansing, President and CEO of Levy Restaurants. “We know that convention and special event guests crave fresh variety and unique local flavors as part of their memorable experience. We look forward to being a part of the invitation to what makes this city truly great.”

Levy Restaurants will be partnering with local farms, artisans and businesses and the enhanced culinary experience will spotlight fresh seasonal offerings and unique regional flavors, including house-baked pastries and breads. With a focus on building relationships throughout the community, Levy will partner with The Classic Center and community organizations to develop new opportunities for area residents, from culinary skills training programs to support for local nonprofit groups and more.

Levy Restaurants replaces the previous in-house caterer, Center Stage Catering. Cramer said Levy is committed to working with local partners and current employees to ensure a smooth and positive transition.

“We are forever indebted to the service Center Stage Catering has provided over the last 15 years, and we will be working together to make the transition for all employees smooth,” Cramer said.
