UGA Hockey team to appear outside of Georgia Square Mall July 4 as part of Celebrate America festivities

ATHENS, Ga. – The University of Georgia Hockey team, the Ice Dogs, will be appearing at Celebrate America outside of Georgia Square Mall on July 4 from 2 p.m. until the fireworks begin to promote the team and inaugural home season at The Classic Center Arena.

Fans can visit the UGA Hockey tents next to the main stage outside the mall starting at 2 p.m. Team gear, games, posters and players will be part of the event. Fans can get autographs from players from 5-6 p.m. inside the mall in the lower level just inside the main mall entrance.

The Ice Dogs have released their official game schedule for the 2014-15 season, which includes 20 home dates at The Classic Center Arena in downtown Athens. The schedule can be viewed at www.ugahockey.com.

The UGA Hockey home opener game is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 21 at 1:30 p.m. against the Florida Gators.

Season tickets are on sale now through The Classic Center box office at 706-357-4444 or www.ClassicCenter.com. Fans are encouraged to purchase season tickets in advance to assure priority seating.

The Ice Dogs beat rival Georgia Tech 6-3 on April 9 before a sold-out crowd of 2,000 fans in The Classic Center Arena’s grand opening hockey game.
