After 32 Years, She Was Compelled to Speak Up at a Public Meeting

Donna Alvermann lives on Gran Ellen Drive. For decades, she has trusted her elected officials to do the right thing for the Athens community. She didn't bother to attend public meetings and speak out about her wishes. But like many others, she was concerned about the development plans Selig Enterprises released for the Armstrong & Dobbs property. She went to the Commission meeting last Tuesday, intending only to listen. But, as things turned out, she rose and went to the podium, where she told the ACC Commission to take things slowly and get them right.
In this brief video, she explains what prompted her to speak out.
