Animal Control Report: 23 Animals Impounded Last Week

Athens-Clarke County Animal Control responded to 46 calls last week, according to its weekly media release:

·       22 reports of dogs running at large

·       7 reports of seriously injured animals

·       7 reports of animal neglect

·       2 reports of animal bites

·       1 neighborhood complaint

·       2 reports of barking dogs

·       1 report of livestock at large

·       1 request for cat transport

·       2 reports of a trapped animal

·       0 citations were issued for local Animal Control ordinance violations

·       11 warnings issued

Animal Control impounded 23 animals — 15 dogs, 6 cats, 2 raccoons. Four dogs and 3 cats were adopted, 1 dog reclaimed, and 12 dogs and 7 cats turned over to shelters/rescue groups.
