Animal Control Report: 29 Animals Impounded Last Week

Athens-Clarke County Animal Control responded to 42 calls last week, according to its weekly media release:

• 23 reports of dogs running at large
• 7 reports of animal neglect
• 4 reports of animal bites
• 2 reports of seriously injured animals
• 2 reports of trapped animals
• 2 reports of seriously sick animals
• 1 report of barking dogs
• 1 request for cat transport

• 0 citations were issued for local Animal Control ordinance violations
• 19 warnings issued

Animal Control impounded 29 animals — 20 dogs, eight cats, one raccoon. Seven dogs and one cat were adopted, two dogs reclaimed, and seven dogs and two cars turned over to shelters/rescue groups.
