Animal Control Report: 30 Animals Impounded, 13 Pets Adopted Last Week

Athens-Clarke County Animal Control responded to 48 calls last week, according to its weekly media release:

• 13 reports of dogs running at large
• 12 reports of animal neglect
• 6 reports of animal bites
• 6 reports of seriously injured animals
• 3 requests for cat transport
• 2 reports of barking dogs
  
• 2 reports of trapped animals
• 2 reports of livestock at large
• 1 report of an aggressive animal
• 1 report of a seriously sick animal
• 0 citations were issued for local Animal Control ordinance violations
• 15 warnings issued

Animal Control impounded  30 animals — 21 dogs, 9 cats. Nine dogs and 4 cats were adopted, 4 dogs reclaimed, and 7 dogs and 7 cats turned over to shelters/rescue groups.
