Athens Area Habitat for Humanity Breaks Ground on a New Home

This is the second home in Tillman Place.

Athens Area Habitat for Humanity will break ground on its 77th house in the Athens community this Friday, March 1st 4 PM at 105 Carter St. This house will be the second addition to Tillman Place, a Habitat community that will ultimately consist of five houses located on Carter St. The development is in close proximity to the Kroger shopping center, the local library, and local county schools making it an ideal location for the family that will inhabit the house upon completion.

The house is sponsored by The Athens Rotary Club, which has agreed not only to provide funds for the house, but has also partnered with Habitat and has agreed to provide all of the volunteers for the Saturday builds. Athens Habitat is excited to start work on this new project to continue to provide simple, decent, affordable housing for members of the Athens community.
