Athens Bar Stool Classic Uses Putt-Putt to Raise Money for Cancer's Cure

The Athens Area Cancer Auxiliary has a new spring fundraiser to support local cancer causes.

The Athens Area Cancer Auxiliary has a new spring fundraiser to support local cancer causes.

The Athens Bar Stool Classic, scheduled Saturday March 29 in the downtown Athens, is a putt-putt tournament from which 100 percent of the proceeds goes to cancer research.

“For me, everything about this event keeps things local. From bringing business to downtown on a Saturday afternoon to giving 100% of what we raise to Athens based cancer organizations. That is one of the many things that has kept me actively involved in Athens Area Cancer Auxiliary over the years,” Athens Area Cancer Auxiliary President Jacelyn McCall said in an emailed press release.
