Athens Today -- Apr 15

It's Friday, the day before the weekend.

1. Living in Athens in the Spring leaves one feeling twitterpated. If you are feeling so, why not enjoy the outdoors and satisfy your need for something sweet and juicy at Washington Farms. The strawberries are ready for picking! You can pick your own there or at one of many farms in Georgia.

2. Today, students across the nation are declaring a National Day of Silence to bring attention to anti-LGBT harassment and bullying in schools. UGA students will observe this day with a rally and march to the Arch at 7:30pm followed by a vigil.

3. Canopy Studio, a community center for trapeze and other performance artists, presents the this weekend. Tonight the show starts at 8pm, tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for students and $6 for children, and may be purchased online and at Dynamite Clothing. All tickets are general admission so get there early to get a good seat!

4. is a teen coffeehouse and open mic event where teens can sing, dance, play an instrument or “whatever.” Tonight is the last Afterhours of the season, the program will resume next September.

5. The takes place tonight at UGA’s Intramural Sports Complex at 7pm. It is an all-night event in which teams work together to walk or run around the track until 7am Saturday. Wear good shoes!
