Athens Today - Apr 25

Monday gives you an opportunity to start fresh, learn something new, help out.

1. The hosts twice a month. Today, at 10:30am, bring your child age 0-24 months to the story room to enjoy activities designed to nurture language development. The Library will also host tonight at 7pm.

2. The Loran Smith Center for Cancer Support hosts every Monday from 5pm-7pm. The Center also offers education, information and emotional support to cancer patients and their families through workshops, seminars and individual classes. All of the services are free.

3. presents a lecture today on “Preventing Money Loss in Your Small Business.” From 6:30pm-8:30pm, a panel of experts will explain how you can slow both catastrophic and subtle loss of cash from your business.

4. The Athens-Clarke County Department of Human and Economic Development and Oconee County Economic Development Department are teaming up to offer a series of free monthly workshops to local small businesses. Every fourth Monday of the month, a workshop will be held at either the Oconee or Athens-Clarke County location. Tonight, join fellow small business owners at the Dougherty Street Governmental Building in Athens from 6:30pm-8:30pm.

5. The Athens Indie Craftstravaganzaa is coming up in a couple of weeks. Show organizers are seeking volunteers to help with the event. The craft show will be held on the corner of Clayton and Pulaski Streets, next to the , on May 7 from 10am-7pm. Click for information on volunteering.
