The B’s are coming, the B’s are coming! On Friday, tickets go on sale at the for the 35th anniversary show of the B-52’s. it will be Friday, February 9, at 8pm. Tickets are $39 to $59. Work that skirt!

At 10:30am, the will hold a Baby Jam for children ages 1 to 3 and their caregivers. There will be a sing-a-long, so bring your pipes.

People For a Better Athens, first out of the gate against the proposed downtown (likely a Wal Mart), continue their activities. They are holding a Rally for a Better Athens at The New Earth Music Hall (corner of Dougherty and Hull) today at 7:30-10:30pm and are screening the movie “Wal Mart: the High Cost of Low Prices.”

Want an antidote to the holiday fare? Today starts the run of “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” on the stage of the Town and Gown's Theatre. They are partnering with the Boybutante AIDS Foundation. “Hedwig” is a rock and roll musical that tells the story of how Hansel Schmidt becomes Hedwig, and her torrid love affair with a popular rock star. Show times are 8pm, Thursday through Sunday. Plus, there’s; a midnight show on Saturday; and a 6pm show on Sunday. Admission is $12, half of which goes to the Boybutante Aids Foundation.

 This evening, the Mayor and Commission will hold an Agenda Setting Session at 7pm in City Hall. Topics discussed will include Transportation Grants for fiscal year 2013, the proposed pedestrian bridge project at Sandy Creek Park, the Rails-to-Trails project, the 2012 community events program, and the .
