Hooray for Hump Day!

 

If you missed it the first go-round, now’s your chance to see a homegrown movie by Grady Thrasher and Kathy Prescott and Matt DeGennaro. The documentary about the Thrasher Brothers Aerial Circus is showing at on March 1 at 6pm to benefit Project Safe. Cost is $10.

There's another benefit for Project Safe. Beginning Thursday and running through Sunday, at the UGA Chapel, you can experience "The Vagina Monologues," a play by Eve Ensler. Participating are 36 women from UGA and the Athens Community. Tickets are $15 each, and the play begins at 8pm.

is now downtown, in the space that long long ago, was a newstand near the long-gone Palace Movie Theatre on College Avenue. Harvey Sutliff used to sell yummy sandwiches there in the 1980s, then the long-gone Mean Bean moved in, then a coffee bar (or something else?) and now Ike and Jane. Good luck and happy eating!

Tickets are going fast to A Taste of Athens, the eat-your-way-around-town benefit for Community Connection on Sunday at the . You can still get one, of course, doing a favor for both your stomach and the great non-profit that is Community Connection. Athens' many foodies, chefs, bakers and cookers will be showing why we should patronize them.
