From 5 to 7pm on Friday, there's going to be an Eco-focus party at You'll have a chance to eat, drink and socialize with others who enjoy Eco-focus's blend of cutting edge environmental films. And you can buy Ecofocus ticket packets and other merchandise. The Eco-focus Film Festival is at the end of March.

Happy birthday, Mr. Ralph! Those of you lucky enough to know Ralph Stephens know that he is a consumate theatre professional who will bring out the best in your children, on stage and off. Athens is lucky to have him!

Get ready to shop until you drop, beginning on Thursday. That's the starting day for Kindermarket, a 400-seller huge consignment sale at the . Those who volunteer and sell their stuff--women's and children's clothes, plus furniture and home accessories--get first dibs, but believe me, there's more stuff to examine and buy than you would believe. And you can find some great deals. Part of the proceeds benefits the YMCA and its scholarship program. Hours are 6 to 9pm on Thursday (w/a $4 admission); 11am to 7pm on Friday (free admission) and 8am to noon on Saturday (free admission).

If it moves, it's likely to be included in the 's upcoming Railroad Days. Held on March 10, there will be a model train display by the Athens Bend Track, a fire truck, police car, antique car show, VW club cars, and some other fun modes of transportation for the children (and adults) to enjoy. You will be able to buy barbecue, jump on inflatables, enjoy tractor rides and participate in other fun activities for children of all ages. Railroad Days will be from 11am until 3:30pm at the Depot on Hoyt Street. Admission is $5 per person or $20 for a family of five.
