Now's your chance to meet the candidates for the Georgia Legislature at a forum. For Georgia House District 117, Doug McKillip and will be on hand. Democratic candidates Keith Heard and Spencer Frye, and Republican candidates Carter Kessler and Chris Perlera, all of whom want to win Georgia House District 118, will also attend. You can ask questions via the moderator or submit ahead by emailing contact@accneighborhoods.com. The forum starts at 7:30pm in the Old Fire Hall at Prince and Hill.

Make plans to attend an ususual, wonder event. "The Sound and the Faulkner: Live Readings at ,” is Thursday, 5 to 7pm on Thursday. Local residents will read from the works of William Faulkner on the eve of the 50th anniversary of his death.

Beginning Thursday at 8pm, and running several days afterwards, "Steel Magnolias" will be performed outdoors at Ashford Manor in Watkinsville by the Circle Ensemble Theatre. The play revolves around a beauty shop in Louisiana. For tickets, call (706) 613-3771 for details and group pricing.

Today at 6pm, come help BikeAthens repair bikes for its Bike Recycling Program (BRP). The group donates bicycles are donated to social service agencies. They are in the Chase Park Warehouse on the Tracy Street side, down a few doors from Pig Pen Studios.

Want a new way to exercise? Visit the UGA Capoeira Club. You can try capoeira, a type of Brazilian martial arts. Things start at 7pm in the UGA New Dance Theatre. at 7pm, Monday and Wednesay.
