It's Hump Day!

 

Legion Pool is growing up and going on dates. It even has its own Facebook Page and all these friends. Wonder if its mother knows? Anyone can join the pool, after paying $35 to join the UGA Alumni Association. The fees for a non-student, faculty or staff are high, but many believe it's worth it. 

Did you know today's the day in 1927 when Charles Lindbergh returned from his historic solo flight across the Atlantic to Paris? There was a ticker tape parade for him in New York. Good thing he didn't return three years later, when parades were few and far between.

The ACC Commission last night heard about the punitive nature of the T-SPLOST. It if passes in a region, counties in that region will pay 10% less in local matching funds for state road projects. If it fails, they will pay 10% more.

Make plans to take your children to Clarke Central's Mell Auditorium on Thursday morning at 10:30, where Dr. Arvin Scott will teach them about rhythm and drumming. It's part of the 's Summer Reading Program.

On Thursday, from 7pm to 8:30pm, the will show the first of their summer movies, "Waitress." It's the story of a waitressing woman who is trapped in a life she doesn't want.
