Really TGIF!

 

If you're interested in trees, now's your chance to learn more about them. The is offering a class this Saturday in the Visitor's Center on identifying trees in Georgia. Participants will examine leaves and bark as well as branching patterns and habitat. The class runs from 8:30am to 12:30pm. Wear long pants and comfortable shoes: you'll be going into the woods, where ticks are wild this year. Cost is $45 for Garden members and $50 for those who aren't. To register, contact Core Keber at 706-542-6156.

There's a new show up at the Gallery in the . It features more than 50 skateboards painted by Athenians who all started with a blank skate deck. Check out the many skateboards, find one you like and then remeber it when the exhibit is coming down. The skateboards will be auctioned off to raise money for the Skate Park of Athens. Stay tuned!

The t in will be open for business tomorrow morning at 8am, with fresh coffee, yummy baked goods, homemade pasta and lots of fresh fruits and vegetables for you to buy. Peter Dale of T will be fixing food. So, you going or not?

From June 15 through August 12, you can see prints of Albrecht Dürer at the t in an exhibit entitled, “Dürer and His Legacy." Go and be amazed.

There's a Contra Dance at on Saturday night, from 7:30 to 10:30pm. Free for those 18 and under and $7 for those 18 and older. Music by Joe Willey and Friends. Want to learn how to dance? Arrive at 7:15pm for a lesson.
