5 Things to get you over the hump.

1. Those of you with thirsty gardens will be happy to know there is a slight (30%) chance of rain today. Do a rain dance!

2. The Heritage Room at the has a very interesting blog called β€œThis Day in Athens,” which gives you a glimpse of a previous day in the history of Athens-Clarke County. If you have never been to the Heritage Room, it is worth a trip to experience the wealth of information collected and preserved for your benefit. It is one of the areas of the library that will be greatly expanded in the upcoming library renovations.

3. , a popular gift shop in downtown Athens, offers beading classes for all skill levels. This Friday, May 13, try Intro-to-Beading from 6pm-8pm. The class fee is $25 plus the cost of your beads. If you are an avid beader, you may join the Frequent Beader Program to earn rewards towards the purchase of beads.

4. , a non-profit dance company located in 5 Points, offers many different classes in a variety of dance techniques. The Lady Gaga Music Video dance class has been a popular one, as well as Strip Aerobics. Check out the full summer dance class schedule here.

5. Athens Teenscreen is currently accepting DVD submissions of films, made by teens, to screen at AthFest 2011. Entrants must be under age 18, and films can be any length or genre. The deadline to submit is June 1.
