5 Things to know about in Athens, GA on Tuesday, May 29 2012

1. Leaf and Limb pickup takes place in Zone 4 this week, which includes Glen Oaks, Holly Hills, Kingswood, Wood Lake, Wickersham Plantation, Stonehenge, Deerfield, Holiday Estates, High Ridge, Woodhaven, Westwood Hills, and Huntington Park.

2. Headed to the pool today? Before you slather on the sunscreen, check out the Environmental Working Group’s list of best and worst sunscreens on the market.

3. The ACC Board of Elections meeting previously scheduled for June 5 has been rescheduled for today, Tuesday, May 29 at 2pm.

4. The movie “The Kid With a Bike” is showing at Athens Ciné tonight at 5pm, 7:15pm and 9:30pm. On Sunday, Monday and Tuesday nights, Ciné and The National Restaurant offer a prixe fixe movie + dinner deal for only $29 per person.

5. Coming Soon! The Georgia Museum of Art at the University of Georgia will hold a summer film series in June in conjunction with its "John Baeder" exhibition. Each of the films investigates an aspect of southern culture or the American roadside diner experience. The films to be screened are "The Rise of the Southern Biscuit" (June 7), "Waitress" (June 14), "Junebug" (June 21) and "Diner" (June 28). All films will be shown at 7pm in the museum's M. Smith Griffith Auditorium, and are free and open to the public.
