TGIF. Lots to see today!

1 Ecofocus, which brings Athens the great film festival of the same name, is showing a film tomorrow in the Odum School of Ecology at 12:15 p.m. Called “…And This is My Garden,” it follows two garden-planting teachers and their students through a season of seeding, planting, etc., a garden. It even shows a harvest festival. This jewel is part of the 2011-12 EcoFocus Mixed Greens Film Series on the second Friday of the month through March 2012, leading up to the annual EcoFocus Film Festival.

2. Athens Creative Theatre's production of the classic tale of an aging toymaker and his puppet, Pinocchio, takes on timely issues in, playing this weekend at the. Audiences will love following Pinocchio's journey from an awkward wooden puppet to a real, live boy and will be charmed by Geppetto's transformation from demanding creator to a real, live father. The show continues Thursday at 7:30pm and runs through Saturday, Oct. 15.

3. The Town and Gown Players present “Dracula!”, a fresh yet faithful take on the gothic horror classic. Show times are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 2pm.

4. ACC Leisure Services will present the movie “Rio” tonight at . Rio, a movie for all ages, will be presented on a 36 foot inflatable screen featuring state of the art projection and stereo equipment. The fun will begin at 5pm and families are encouraged to arrive early and bring blankets and lawn chairs. The event will include music and outdoor activities, and popcorn and snacks will be for sale. The movie will start at 7pm.

5. Go ahead and make those dinner reservations. Few students are going to be in town this weekend. The will face off against Vanderbilt in Nashville at 6pm on October 15. The game will be broadcast by Fox Sports South. If you just need to attend something athletic, the SwimDawgs will be facing Georgia Tech this evening, beginning at 5 in the Ramsey Center.
