Sunday morning coming down.

1. The UGA Drama Department is performing “Life is a Dream” in the Cellar Theatre of the Fine Arts Building today at 2:30 p.m. The cost is $10 for the general public and $7 for students.  The play is an adaptation of a Spanish masterpiece from the 1630s. It touches on just about everything, including destiny and fate, rebels, violence, forgiveness and imprisonment. Tickets@706-542-4400.

2. The Athens Historical Society marches on with a free lecture this afternoon at 2:30 on Civil War history in Athens. There was an armory in town that manufactured cannons and rifles for the Confederacy. The owners were Ferdinand and Francis Cook. Andrew Clyde of Clyde Armory will talk about the two brothers. Chicopee Building, 11809 East Broad Street near the river.

3. Wanting to take in a movie with your young child? If you’re picky about attending only movies rated G, you’re in luck. There are actually a few to choose from: Cars 2 is playing at the bargain theatre near the mall. At Carmike Theatre, you’ll find Spookley the Square Pumpkin and the Lion King (in 3D). Beechwood also is showing the Lion King in 3 D.

4.  Athens Creative Theatre's production of the classic tale of an aging toymaker and his puppet, Pinocchio, takes on timely issues in, playing today at the. Audiences will love following Pinocchio's journey from an awkward wooden puppet to a real, live boy and will be charmed by Geppetto's transformation from demanding creator to a real, live father. Shows are at 3 and 5:15 p.m.

5. Today's the last day for "Georgia Natural," an art exhibit at by Diane Kirkland, who was a photographer for the State of Georgia for 25 years. The conservatory is open from 11:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., and it's free.
