Counting down the days until Halloween!

1. The second of convenes tonight at the Planning Department offices, 120 W. Dougherty Street at 6 p.m. on the Oak/Oconee street and Prince Avenue corridor studies. Come and comment on the drafts, talk with staff members and offer your ideas about the studies and the corridors.

2. Today at 9:30 and 10:30 a.m., you can bring your toddler to Storytime at the . Storytime introduces children and their caregivers to books, in all their wonderfulness. Both grown-ups and children participate in the program, which is geared for children 18 months to 5 years old.

3. The has something for just about everyone tomorrow. At 12:15 p.m., there’s a brown bag session—bring your lunch—on “Retirement Mistakes to Avoid.” The presenter is Alison Spiers, who coordinates the Money Matters education courses at the library. 4. The Berlin Philharmonic Wind Quintet performs tonight at 8 p.m. in the Hugh Hodgson Concert Hall of the . The quintet was founded in 1988, while Herbert von Karajan was the conductor. The four original members are still playing.

5. Today at 9:30 a.m., come to the to join the Walk-a-Weigh program. Sponsored by the , the program has nutrition lessons, menus and recipes and walking. Walking has proven to be beneficial for those dealing with diabetes, obesity and other chronic problems.
