1. Leaf and Limb pickup will be in Zone 5 this week, which includes Anniston Place, Brittany Place, Brookfield Village, Buckingham Terrace, Camelot, Cardinal Creek, Chadd's Walk, Chatham Park, Creek Plantation, Forest Hills, Harris Hills, Hodgson's Place, Hunter's Pointe, Jefferson Valley, Kings Bridge Crossing, Lantern Walk, Nature Walk, North Valley, Oak Grove, Oconee Heights, Quailwood, Redstone, Rivercliff Estates, Rosewood, Saxon Woods, Sedgefield, Sterling Woods, Tallassee Farms, Tallassee Oaks, Tallassee Ridge, and Westgate Park.
2. The kids band, Laughing Pizza, will play at the today at 4pm. A portion of all proceeds goes to support Georgia Public Broadcasting.
3. The will host a series of guided walking tours through historic neighborhoods in Athens. Lee Epting and John Knowlton will lead a tour through The Hill today at 2pm. Milton Leathers will act as tour guide for the October 2 tour of the Cobbham Historic District. 4. No Shame, an open mic experience hosted by the Rose of Athens theatre ensemble, takes place every Sunday at Hendershot’s. Sign-up is at 6:30pm, performance starts at 7pm, and there are a few guidelines; 1) parental discretion is adivised (no shame, remember?), 2) you have 5 minutes or less, 3) act must be original, 4) you can’t break the law.
5. Randall Bramblett, Davis Causey, the Strawberry Flats, Michael Guthrie and the Nathan Sheppard Band will play at “Burning Down the House” show this evening. The event will raise money for the White Family, who lost nearly all their belonging to a house fire in August. The show starts at 6pm and tickets are $13 at the door.
