Athens Today: September 28

Wednesday is for yoga, hoop dancing and writing about nature.

1. The Athens Land Trust holds weekly Nature Writing training sessions led by Pat Priest, a freelance writer and radio producer. People who enjoy drawing and photographing nature are also welcome to attend, and material produced may be used in the Athens Land Trust newsletter and website. The meetings take place on Wednesdays from 4:30pm-5:30pm and the cost is $5 to attend.

2. Calling all men! is now offered at the Mind Body Institute, every Wednesday from 6pm-8pm.

3. The will host a series of guided walking tours through historic neighborhoods in Athens. Milton Leathers will act as tour guide for the Sunday, October 2, tour of the Cobbham Historic District.

4. Take your child on a creative journey with music and movement. offers time every Wednesday at 10am. Floorspace also offers weekly Hoop Dancing classes for beginners and intermediate hoopers. Bring your own hoop or borrow one, the class begins at 8pm.

5. Today’s event at the will be a showdown of , so come show your team spirit by making a zombie or unicorn pendant. The event is free and open to the first 15 teens (ages 11 to 18) who register.
