Changes in the ACC Solid Waste pickup schedule for this week are as follows: Residential garbage and recycling normally collected on Monday will be picked up on Tuesday, Dec. 27. All other collection days remain the same. Commercial curbside garbage and recycling services to customers in the Downtown District will be collected as regularly scheduled. All other commercial curbside and commercial dumpster garbage and recycling services normally collected on Monday will be picked up on Tuesday, Dec. 27. Leaf and Limb will collect in Zone 1, Dec. 27-Dec 30. 

The Holiday Market is still going on at the . What a great way to spend your Christmas money - on handmade art and crafts from over 75 local artists. The market will be open from 12p-5p, Tuesday-Saturday, through January 7.

Head down to on Tuesday, Dec. 27 for the Terrapin Bluegrass Series, featuring Borderhop 5. Hotel and Show Packages are available for this weekend, when Mother’s Finest will perform on Friday, Dec. 30 and Saturday, Dec. 31.

The UGA Men’s Basketball team will play against Winthrop University on Tuesday at 7pm, and against Delaware State University on Friday at 7pm at Stegeman Coliseum. Admission is $15 for regular folks, and $2 for UGA students, faculty and staff.

The UGA Women’s Basketball team will also play two games this week, the first against Furman University, Wednesday at 7pm. On Thursday, the Lady Dogs will play against Arkansas University. Both games will be played in Stegeman Coliseum at 7pm. Admission is $5 for regular folks, and free for UGA staff, faculty and students.

The State Botanical Garden offers a plethora of educational programs, one of which is the Earth Skills Series, a course designed to teach students ancient earth living skills. There are four sessions in the series, which is led by Tommy Tye, the first of which will take place on Feb. 4.
