Bikes, Basketballs and other Presents at the Boys and Girls Club Christmas Party

For over 20 years the Boys & Girls Clubs of Athens has held an annual Christmas Party for its members

More than 300 children were treated to a Christmas party with food, drinks and gifts at the H.T. Edwards building this week. Mike Hackett, President and CPO, believes that what makes this celebration possible is the combination of sponsors both old and new.

“Since the very beginning”, he says, “Red-Neck Greece and Locos Grill & Pub have held an annual Christmas concert to support the club’s Christmas party.”

In addition, the Crimes family has provided food for the last 15 years. This year the UGA Women’s Basketball Team is providing 25 bicycles. New supporters this year also include The Young Professionals’ Network of Athens, Sigma Chi, and The Frances Wood Wilson Foundation.

The club would like to give special thanks to Pharma Tech Industries.

According to Hackett, “Pharma Tech Industries’ support has put us over the top in our quest to provide each club member with an individual, meaningful gift.” Hackett adds, “I think it is very special to see our local business community, especially young professionals, get behind us and support these great kids. These children are our future workers, leaders, and service providers. Our support for them now will pay dividends in the future.”
