Celebrate Founders Memorial Garden on Jan. 26th at ACC Library

John Waters will be speaking.

By Rhiannon Eades

Celebrate the 75th anniversary of UGA’s Founders Memorial Garden on Sunday, January 26, at 3:00 p.m. at the Athens-Clarke County Library.

John Waters, a professor in the Historic Preservation Graduate Program at the UGA College of Environment and Design, will discuss the varied and extensive activities to commemorate the garden’s Diamond Jubilee.

At the time of its creation, the Founders Memorial Garden was the largest project undertaken by any state garden club. The two and a half acre garden is recognized as a major influence on the creation of the landscape quality that now characterizes UGA’s campus.
