Great Escapes: Last Diversion of the Weekend

More often than not, the weekend flies by and the idea of spontaneously carving out time for you and yours may make you laugh, especially if you happen to be a parent. Time alone with your significant other has to be planned, booked, penciled-in and arranged. I found the perfect outing for you and your Honey at the end of the weekend. You know the Sunday night blues, aka witching hours, that can strike approximately 5pm - 7pm Sunday nights? Hire a sitter and get out of the house.

Aromas Wine Bar in Five Points has reworked their menu and added more dining choices and variety. They offer a lovely deal on Sundays from 5pm to midnight: half off bottles of wine with the purchase of any cheese plate or platter of food. Aromas has seventeen cheeses on their menu and features some delicious choices from Sweet Grass Dairy. They've added pate, a smoked salmon terrine and their own version of bruschetta. Look for seasonal menu changes as well as they introduce their much-anticipated pimento cheese.

The food offerings aren't the only things that have been updated. The wine list has also undergone a metamorphosis as Aromas is now changing it with the seaons. General Manager Heather Allister is quite proud of the weather-inspired cocktails that her bartenders are creating. Aromas has added many new beers but be assured they still carry Terrapin Beer.
