Habitat for Humanity to Dedicate 76th House in Athens

Habitat for Humanity of Athens will hold a dedication ceremony celebrating the completion of House #76 and the official key exchange to new homeowner, Shevonda Brown, on Sunday, April 19th, 2013 at 5:00 p.m.

This house was sponsored by Wells Fargo and built by Wells Fargo volunteers. This house is Earth Craft Certified, which means it met a number of criteria that is focused on sustainable, efficient design and function. Earth Craft looks into the indoor air quality, energy and water efficiency, resource-efficient design and building materials, waste management, and site planning. Athens Habitat is excited to dedicate its first Earth Craft house a few days before Earth Day!

The ceremony is hosted by Athens Area Habitat for Humanity and will be held at 175 Carter St in Athen, GA. Athens Area Habitat for Humanity is very excited to commemorate the 76th house built in the Athens area and look forward to the future successes of Ms. Brown and her family.

Habitat builds simple, decent houses with the help of the partner families and sells them to qualifying families at no-profit and no-interest. Homeowners must repay the cost of building their home with no interest charge and 100% of the mortgage payments going towards the funding of future Habitat houses.
