Kindermarket Opens on Thursday at the YMCA in Athens, Ga.

One of the largest consignment sales in the Athens area is Kindermarket, which opens this Thursday to the public at 6pm at the Athens YMCA. There's a $4 admission fee for the first evening, but it's free the other two days.

On Saturday, most items are half off, and the hours are 8am to noon.

The children's clothes at Kindermarket are checked for tears, stains and inappropriate messages, and are grouped according to size. This week, the clothes for sale will be for colder temperatures, so expect coats, sweaters, long pants and long sleeves.

The toys are checked to make sure they have all their working parts. And you can score some great furniture, rugs, lamps and other things.
