'Roll Out The Barrels' is Right Around the Corner

Rain barrels painted by artists will be auctioned May 16 at the Lyndon House.

The "Roll Out the Barrels 2014" extravaganza takes place on Friday, May 16th, at the Lyndon House Arts Center at 5:30 pm.

Twenty local artists have turned rain barrels into beautiful pieces of functional art.

These will be auctioned off--in a silent auction--and the proceeds will go to the Athens Green School Program. This is an initiative to ensure environmental education is taught in the classroom.

Artist Jamie Calkin has an unusual offer for the high bidder of his barrel: You get to tell what to paint.
