Weekend Planner: Too Many Possibilities, Not Enough Time

Here is our pick of activities going on in or around Athens this weekend: from Songwriters in the Round to the India Fair.

Why Go: Experience July’s full moon while paddling on Lake Chapman for a night to remember.

Pricing: $5 ACC resident with boat; $8 ACC resident without boat; $8 non-ACC resident with boat; $12 non-ACC resident without boat

Where/When: on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. 

Why Go: Bring the family to the GMOA to visit the Samuel L. Kress Gallery and then make Renaissance-inspired picture frames to take home.

Where/When: Farmington Depot Gallery on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Why Go: The art gallery will be open and the event will feature artist booths, food, music, activities for kids and fun for all.

5. INDIA FAIR

Where/When: Oconee County Civic Center on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Why Go: Celebrate all things India and explore the booths featuring authentic Indian food, beautiful dresses, costume jewelry, fresh vegetables, henna dying, eyebrow threading and much more.
