Avid Bookshop is pleased to announce a poetry reading and book signing with Liza Wieland on Friday, July 6, 2012 at 6:30 pm.
Wieland has published seven books and two of her short stories and an essay appeared in The Georgia Review, an internationally circulated literary journal published at the University of Georgia. The recipient of a Bridport Prize in the UK and two Pushcart Prizes, Wieland also received grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Christopher Isherwood Foundation and the North Carolina Arts Council. She grew up in Atlanta and attended The Lovett School. She earned a BA from Harvard and a PhD from Columbia University. She teaches creative writing at East Carolina University and lives with her husband and daughter near Oriental, NC.
