Meet the Poets: Rebecca Baggett and Eric Nelson

Avid Bookshop is pleased to announce a poetry reading with Rebecca Baggett and Eric Nelson on March 29, 2012, Thursday, at 7pm.

Eric Nelson has published five poetry collections, including The Twins (2009), winner of the Split Oak Press Chapbook Award; Terrestrials (2004, Texas Review Press), winner of the X.J. Kennedy Poetry Award; and The Interpretation of Waking Life (1991, U. of Arkansas Press), winner of the Arkansas Poetry Award. His poems have appeared in Poetry, The Southern Review, The Oxford American, The Sun, and many other journals and anthologies. He teaches in the Writing and Linguistics Department at Georgia Southern University.

Rebecca Baggett has published four poetry chapbooks, including Thalassa (2011, Finishing Line Press); God Puts on the Body of a Deer (2010, Main Street Rag), winner of the Main Street Rag Chapbook Competition; Rebecca Baggett: Greatest Hits (2001, Pudding House Publications); and Still Life with Children (1996, Pudding House Publications), winner of the National Looking Glass Poetry Chapbook Award. Her work appears in Atlanta Review, New England Review, North American Review, Poetry East, The Southern Review, and many other journals and anthologies and has received three Pushcart Prize nominations. She works as an academic advisor for the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Georgia.
