Some "Jerk" Steals Patterson Hood's Guitar in Columbia, Mo.

Athens' Drive-by-Truckers were unloading equipment at the Blue Note when the theft happened.

Β

What could be lower than stealing a musician's instrument? A guitar made especially for you by one of the country's master craftsmen, Scott Baxendale?

On Tuesday night, as Athens' Drive By Truckers were preparing to play at the Blue Note in Columbia, Missouri, home of the University of Missouri, someone took Hood's acoustic guitar, according to Pitch.com, a music blog.

Here's what the blog quotes Patterson as saying:

Y'ALL,
Last night my prized Baxendale Acoustic Guitar was stolen during our load out from The Blue Note in Columbia MO.
It was custom made for me and was my most cherished material possession.
It's a small, parlour type bodied acoustic guitar.
I have written my last five albums on this guitar and am very upset.
Anyone with any information about it, please contact us (management@drivebytruckers.com), no questions asked.
It has made an already terrible week even worse.
Thanks in advance,
Patterson Hood
