Give Your Paws a New Life!

Back to School Shoe Recycle Drive to help the animals at AAHS!

The Athens Area Humane Society is partnering with ShoeBox Recycling to give your old paws (a.k.a. shoes) a new life! When you do your back to school shopping this year, donate your old shoes to AAHS and we’ll recycle them to raise money to help the dogs, cats and small animals awaiting adoption. To make this recycling drive a big hit, you can tell all of your friends and classmates what you’re doing and get them to join you! You can also print flyers from our website to give to your teachers, friends and classmates to help spread the word. Let’s see who can collect the most shoes by September 30, 2012.

If you’re not doing back to school shopping this year, you can still help by cleaning out your closet and donating those shoes that have been sitting there collecting dust! Get your whole family involved, and let your coworkers know about the drive, too. Your neighborhood, organization or office can join in to see if you can gather as many shoes as the back to school groups!
